Barre is a method of training inspired by ballet and Pilates – the focus of which is to target and isolate small muscle groups using little to no weights, with high repetitions within a small range of movement. The class combines static strength based exercises and stretch flow sequences, to both tone the body and improve flexibility. At the beginning and end of each session students are invited to find a moment of calm, readying both the mind and body, and improving mental wellbeing.
Joel’s barre class is suitable for all ages and abilities, and is perfect for those who are coming back to exercise after injury, or breaks for whatever reason.
