These 45 minute kids & teen yoga classes in Brighton offer a playful space for children to calm the body, mind, and regulate their emotions. During these sessions children experience a variety of yoga poses, gentle breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises.

About Kids & Teen Yoga Classes

Mondays, 4-5pm: Year 7-11 (ages 11+)

Teenagers need the power of yoga and mindfulness now more than ever. These practices develop the tools to respond skilfully in moments of pressure and stress and develop self-love and a healthy and positive relationship with our bodies that will server us for the rest of our lives. Each class will include:

* Asana – physical yoga poses to improve posture, core strength, and fitness

* Pranayama – breathing practices to help reduce stress and anxiety

* Rest – giving your body and mind some space and stillness – your chill out time

Tuesdays, 4-5pm: Reception-Year 1 (ages 4-6)

Making yoga for children fun! Classes offer a playful space for children to calm the body, mind, and regulate their emotions. During these sessions children experience a variety of yoga poses, gentle breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises. All helping to cultivate and encourage a calm mind, increase their strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, encourage positive social skills and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives. Games, stories, crafts, pair work and music will be incorporated into this fun, active class. Each class ends with a period of relaxation, aromatherapy then a themed story of the week. We ask children to wear comfortable clothing and to practice barefoot.

Wednesdays, 4-5pm: Year 2-4 (ages 6-8)

Classes for 2-4 year olds give the opportunity to build upon their strength, flexibility, ability to cultivate a calm mind through mindfulness and breathing techniques. This playful class offers the chance to experience and practice poses, breathing, and meditation. The session may include some group work, pair work, games, singing, stories or craft work as well as some circle times exploring strategies to cope with stress and difficult situations. Each class will end with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy, then a themed story of the week. We ask children to wear comfortable clothing and to practice barefoot. This class offers an opportunity for fun and letting go, allowing children to experience a deeper inner calm within themselves.

Thursdays, 4-5pm: Year 5-6 (ages 8-11)

Tween classes offers a little more challenge and another level of mind-body connection, while still being playful. This class focuses on giving pre-teens tools they can use to reduce stress in their lives, and of how to create calm minds as well as increasing strength and flexibility. Each class will usually include a series of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation practices. Classes may include music to create a soft, gentle atmosphere, fun games, and activities to make the class active and enjoyable. Classes will include discussions on how to apply what they learn in yoga class to help them at home, school, and with friends. Each class ends with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy, then a themed reading. We ask children to wear comfortable clothing and to practice barefoot.
