Qigong (pronounced chi-kung) is a form of exercise that includes healing posture, guided movement, self-massage, breathing techniques and meditation. Qigong is easy to learn and builds into a comprehensive set of tools to exercise the whole body and give you the means to take control of your health and well-being. Benefits from regular practice include improved posture, greater energy and stamina, a stronger immune system and a greater sense of calm.
Qigong is suitable for anyone regardless of age or physical ability and requires no special equipment.
The core of his teaching is a system entitled Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi, which consists of forms composed of eighteen movements designed to stretch and exercise the musculature and promote the free flow of Qi through the body’s energy channels to foster our health and vitality.

Qi is life force energy and gong is work or skill. In these classes you will learn the art of working with life force energy.
Moving intentionally through breath, stretches and relaxing flows, the classes blend traditional Qi Gong practices with contemporary insights supporting you to achieve greater physical health, a calm mind and emotional balance.
The classes are suitable for all bodies and levels of experience.

This class is le by Sophie Gibson. She has been practicing Qi Gong for twenty five years. Her decision to teach Qi Gong came in 2022 when she was in the midst of professional burnout and sudden cancer diagnosis. Her Qi Gong practice was a lifeline in her physical and psychological recovery and it was then she made the decision to share its healing power with others.
Since qualifying as a teacher in August 2023, she has been privileged to share her gentle, yet invigorating teaching style of Qi Gong with a wide range of clients.
Qi Gong with its slow intentional movements and deep connection to the breath invites us into a conversation with our bodies and offers the tools of self-healing. Benefits of Qi Gong include a release from physical discomfort, an awakening of vitality, the building of strength and flexibility and the cultivation of emotional balance.
