 About Carly

I use a mindfulness based treatment approach when working with clients called Internal Family Systems (IFS).

When we have been through or are currently dealing with something difficult in our lives, uncomfortable and unwanted symptoms can arise such as depression, low self esteem, self criticism, anxiety, attachment issues or addictions. Trying to ignore or reject our symptoms doesn’t usually help them to heal.

Underneath all of these learned patterns and behaviours lies our core self: the part of us that has always been there, since birth, and holds all of the resources we can ever need to heal; all of the strength, wisdom and compassion we have been searching for.

It is a common to think that we must look outside of ourselves for the answers. During our time together, I will support you on your journey of self exploration, guiding you inwards towards self-awareness, love and acceptance, bringing you back to the person you truly are. As you create an ‘internal family’ within, you will find everything you have been looking for.

My sessions are conducted in a slightly different way to traditional talking therapy. Instead of rehashing over your memories and thought processes in detail, I will be helping you to drop into a place of feeling and understanding. The exercise enables you to go inward in order to connect with the deeper causes of the symptoms that bring you to therapy. from this place, the real work can be done.

I provide a supportive and nurturing environment for you to be able to better understand the parts of yourself that you may be ashamed or unaware of at present, including your fears and defences. In your sessions, you will be given the space to learn self compassion along the path to true and lasting healing.

I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology and Social Work, a diploma in Hypnotherapy and hold training qualifications in IFS, Mindfulness Meditation, Coaching and EFT.
